Comment I don't think it's "an attempt to create artificial notability". The article was created as a brief stub back in 2006 [1] by an editor who appears unrelated to the subject. In those days, before the notability criteria and BLP sourcing requirements were tightened up, it was fairly common for people to create articles for the candidates in US Senate elections regardless of whether they had previously held an elected office or were otherwise notable.
